Ariana Grande donates $1 million to a project that offers therapy to the population

The singer Ariana Grande published on Twitter the donation of US$ 1 million – approximately R$ 5 million, for the BetterHelp project, which offers therapy to the population of the United States.

The artist said the fee will help offer at least one month of free counseling and a considerable discount throughout the entire process. For her, mental health should never be a discarded subject.

Ariana also commented that therapy should not be for "a privileged few", but rather "something that everyone should have access to".

Motivation

The singer explained that the donation was made "in hopes of inspiring them to dip a toe, feel good asking for help, and hopefully free their minds of any kind of self-judgment by doing so!"

The message also noted: "Healing is not linear or easy, but it is worth the effort and time."

In addition to Twitter, Ariana Grande posted the message on her Instagram profile, which generated even greater engagement.

The singer has received raves fans and other artists such as Demi Lovato, who is another celebrity who has been talking openly about mental health.

Importance of therapy

In several interviews, Ariana had already commented on the importance of therapy in her life. The singer said that she met in sessions and that was very important to her health problems.

Ariana was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) resulting a suicide bombing that occurred at her concert in 2017 at the Manchester Arena leaving 23 dead.

“In all honesty, therapy has saved my life so many times. If you're afraid to ask for help, don't be. You don't need to be in constant pain and you can process trauma. I have a lot of work to do, but it's a start, even to be aware that it's possible”, reflected the singer.
